THE FIRSTBORN IS COMING
Jacob had heard that Esau, the elder brother whom Jacob had robbed, was coming with a multitude of men to take vengeance. Have you heard that Jesus, the Firstborn among brethren, is returning to take vengeance on his enemies? But before Esau came, the Lord came to Jacob, made him confess his sin and Jacob believed on the Lord. Then when Esau came, we find a glorious picture of the reception that shall be between the Lord Jesus Christ and all the children of God our Father who put their trust in him: "And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men….And [Jacob] passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother. And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept." (Gen 33: 1, 3, 4.)
