Proverbs
15: 13: A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart
the spirit is broken.
?-----------------------------?
There
is no attribute more comforting to His children than that of God’s Sovereignty.
Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe trials, they believe
that Sovereignty has ordained their afflictions, that Sovereignty overrules them
and that Sovereignty will sanctify them all. Arthur Pink

I KNOW THEM
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they
follow me:”—John 10:27
PRECIOUS TRUTH – Jesus Christ,
that great shepherd of the sheep, says: “I know them.” Child of God,
wherever you are at present, whatever you might be passing through at this
moment, remember this: your Savior knows. Christ’s sheep are never out of his
hands and never out of his heart. He does not appear, declaring his love to his
sheep, and then tell them that he will let them perish and not interfere with their
will. Never. “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I
have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness
have I drawn thee.”
SWEET COMFORT – Yes, what
sweet comfort to remember that “My Savior knows.” An aged believer, on
his death bed, in and out of consciousness, was asked the cause of his great
peace. He answered, “When I am able to think, I think of Jesus; and when I am
unable to think of him, I know he is thinking of me.” Christ will seek, find,
and save his sheep in time, and bring them each to be with him in eternity. There
will never be a time when Christ will not say: “I know them.” Larry Criss

BELIEVER’S
EXPERIENCE
Maurice
Montgomery
God has revealed unto the true believer the true
nature of sin and his wound grows deeper with the passing of time, as God gives
him more light. Consequently, his need,
his hungering and thirsting for Christ also increases with time. The deeper his wound, the deeper his
repentance, and the more he loves to hear of the all-sufficient Saviour, the
Lord Jesus Christ.
Those who profess faith in Christ and do not, with the
passing of time, have a deeper sense of their sinfulness, and thus live in a
deeper state of repentance, have never likely experienced anything but a
superficial religious scratch, not Holy Spirit conviction and repentance. And this condition is nearly always manifest
in their lack of an increasing hunger and thirst for Christ and the indifferent
manner in which they hear that precious Gospel of God's glory and grace. They had as soon, or rather, hear other
things than the things of Christ.
Contrariwise, the true believer can never hear too much of that glorious
message of "Jesus Christ and him crucified."
The true believer is described in Philippians
3:1-14. May we, you and I, be found
in that blessed number. Mr. Spurgeon
once said, "After some years of experience, the Christian comes to know,
better than he did at first, how much the Gospel suits him. He finds that its simplicity suits his
bewilderment; its grace suits his sinfulness: its power is suitable to his
weakness; its comfort is suitable to his despondence; and the more he grows,
the more he loves the gospel of the grace of God."
?-----------------------------?
Believer, when the devil accuses, remember, Christ is
not a judge to condemn because he already gave himself for your sins. He will not trample his fallen but build you up. He will not lay a heavier burden but take it
off. Flee to Christ. He already gave himself for your sins.
?-----------------------------?
The more a child of God sees yourself alone at the
foot of the cross, the only one hammering the nails, the only one mocking and thrusting
the spear, the only one whose sins caused Christ to be forsaken then the less you
will esteem yourself and the more you will esteem Him who bore it to make you
perfectly righteous.

CHRIST MAKES HIS WITNESSES
Galatians 1: 1: Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither
by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)
The devil uses the same tactics in every generation. He attacks Christ’s messenger. By this he attempts to discredit the gospel
he preaches. His ultimate goal is to turn
brethren from Christ. So Paul magnifies,
not himself, but Christ. Our risen Redeemer
not only justified his church by his blood but it is Christ who makes all his
people his witnesses through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the
truth. “Wherefore, holy brethren,
partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our
profession, Christ Jesus” (Heb 3:1). To
oppose his witnesses is to oppose him (Ps 105: 14).

ONE MESSAGE, ONE MOTIVE
Galatians 1: 3: Grace be to you and peace from
God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4: Who gave himself for
our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to
the will of God and our Father: 5: To whom be glory for ever and ever.
Amen.
These verses make it impossible to argue for human
merit in any part of salvation. Grace
is the unmerited favor of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace chose us, grace redeemed us, grace regenerated
us and grace shall bring us home to glory.
Beginning to end salvation is all of grace. Peace is from God our Father and his
Son Jesus Christ. Sin and guilt torment.
Grace remits sin by Christ’s blood and gives peace of conscience within. Peace is knowing God accepts us in the
Beloved and there is no more offering for sin.
Therefore, we have one message and one motive. Our message: "our Lord Jesus Christ,
who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil
world, according to the will of God and our Father.” Our motive: “To whom be glory forever
and ever. Amen.”
